BURDEN. Originally created for the stage by choreographer Paul Gordon Emerson as a part of Company | E's evening length work, "The Butterfly's Burden," based on the writings of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish, "Burden" is created here as a work for the camera. Set inside Washington DC's Highlands Cafe, "Burden" transforms from a trio about the tension Darwish felt between his life as a writer and his role in Palestinian affairs into a work about the dynamics of three people.
