GEORGE WASHINGTON

The father of our country's ancestors hailed from Washington in Northeast England, now part of the coastal City of Sunderland. Generations have passed, but the historic home and grounds of the Washington family is cared for by the National Trust of the United Kingdom.

Legends and hundreds ofyears of Ghost Stories echo through the walls of Washington Old Hall, and Company | E, in partnership with the National Trust and the University of Sunderland are gathering those stories together for a site-specific evening-length program on the grounds of Old Hall in September, 2016.

Ghost Stories is made possible through the support of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, The National Trust at Washington Old Hall and the University of Sunderland, Sunderland College, the City of Sunderland City Council and the Sister Cities partnership between Washington, DC and Sunderland, UK.
