Company E continues its series of concerts in the Persian Gulf exploring the millenia deep traditions of Pearl Diving with "The Pearl Diver's Daughter - Qatar." Presented in partnersip with the Embassy of the United States in Doha.
Sponsored by the U.S. Embassy, Tunisia and Mid Atlantic Arts, Company | E's multi part performance and teaching residency in Tunisia began in 2023 and continues through 2024.
JUST PAST
A World Premiere evening at the House of Sweden in Washington, DC on Saturday, November 18th featuring the work of Fredrik Quinones and Lidia Wos.
Company |E's third appearance at New York's signature dance festival in June 2023.
The World Premiere of SEEN/UNSEEN alongside one of the company's signature works, "Who Let the Dogs Out" at the Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival highlight Company | E's return to the West Bank of the Palestinian Territories. The program marks the Company's first engagement with artists in Gaza, and renews the partnership with the State Department's Office of Palestinian Affairs.
FOR PERFORMANCE AND EDUCATION
Company | E's partnership with the Department of State and the U.S. Embassy Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates moves into world building in Virtual and Mixed Reality with the creation of the SUPERMUSEUM: America.
Premiering in the UAE in February at Middle East ComicCon, the SUPERMUSEUM is the inaugural initiative for a planned global Virtual World experience with the State Department.
Company | E's ongoing Ukrainian Artists Initiative. Begun in spring of 2022 this series of commissions in dance, music, film, photography and storytelling is designed to use the power of performing and visual art to bear witness to Russia's war on Ukraine through the eyes of Ukrainian artists themselves.
In February 2023, in partnership with the U.S. Mission to the United Kingdom, the company created and curated, alonside a team of Ukrainian and American artists to create "1,000 Candles - a Vigil for Ukraine" which filled London's Trafalgar Square.
In 2024 a series of new commissions again brings to global audiences stories of Ukraine created both for Company | E and for artists in Ukraine and around the world.
CONCERTS AND INITIATIVES ON THE CLIMATE CRISIS
Since 2007, Company | E has been commissioning works from artists at home and around the globe which speak to the climate crisis. Those initiatives are just one part of the organization's efforts.
From programs for young audiences to new initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint while bringing the world closer together, the Company is engaged in one of the key questions of our times.
Working with U.S. Embassies overseas and Foreign Missions to the United States at home in DC, Company | E's core work is to bring people and cultures together through movement, music and cross-cultural dialogue and engagement.
The annual Company | E and Howard University commission for the next generation of choreographers, composers, film-makers and dramatic artists.
Created in memory of Liz Cherry Jones, 2022 pairs choreographer Tori Yevette Carter and composer Clifton Brockington.
