Free admission

The city moves here.

One waterfront.
Many forms.

SURGE turns Washington’s waterfront into one continually changing stage. Live music is already in the air as people arrive. Dancers emerge from the crowd. Voice, cello, percussion, and DC rhythm reshape the atmosphere as the evening builds toward a shared, all-artist finish.

Energetic, welcoming, and unmistakably Washington, SURGE brings artists and audiences together for a free public experience designed to be discovered at any point—and compelling enough to make you stay.

Metro, Parking & Water Taxi

Metro: The Wharf is on Metro. L’Enfant Plaza Station—served by the Blue, Orange, Silver, Green, and Yellow lines—is about an eight-minute walk from The Wharf, and the free SW Shuttle connects the station with the waterfront. Waterfront Station on the Green Line also serves the neighborhood. View Metro and shuttle details.

Parking: The Wharf has three underground parking garages open around the clock, with multiple entrances throughout the neighborhood. Accessible spaces are available in every garage. Parking can fill during special events and rates can be expensive, so Metro is strongly recommended. Additional parking is available at L’Enfant Plaza if The Wharf garages are full. Review current garage entrances and rates.

Water Taxi: The Water Taxi serves The Wharf’s Transit Pier from Georgetown, Old Town Alexandria, and National Harbor. Service operates seasonally from March through December, with schedules and fares varying throughout the season. Check Water Taxi information and tickets.
